The Pueblo History and Art Walk was created to acknowledge the history of the Bessemer, Bojon Town, and Grove neighborhoods, while also adding new amenities, infrastructure, and art to the area. The Art Walk consists of three loops extending into each of the three neighborhoods starting and ending at the Pueblo Riverwalk. The team leading this project is working to encourage physical activity and community connection by:
Once the walk is complete, it will provide opportunities for increased tourism within Pueblo and will hopefully serve as an active spot for bikers, runners and walkers to utilize and enjoy the rich history of these three neighborhoods.
IZI is an online travel platform used to highlight the points of interest along the History and Art Walk. It contains three separate loops, a map, visual and audio of the History on each loop. Please click the link below to access the tours.

Recorrido de Historia y Arte de Pueblo
This neighborhood of Pueblo, tucked in low-laying land right next to the Arkansas River, has developed and changed many times over the course of history. But beneath the surface there is much to be seen.
This neighborhood is home to many families who have had generations of relatives live here since the late 1800’s.
In its early days, Pueblo grew because many immigrant families moved here to work at the Colorado Fuel & Iron (CF&I) steel mill, which was the largest steel mill west of the Mississippi at the time. Some immigrants were even required to work as indentured servants to pay back their cost of passage to Pueblo and a new life.
In it’s beginning, Bessemer went from small worker's neighborhood to booming company town in a very short amount of time. The area was originally platted in 1880 by the Colorado Fuel & Iron Company and developed specifically to provide housing for their many workers. Though Bessemer seems to remain in the shadows of the steel mill, this neighborhood holds its own by preserving its original culture, people, businesses, and sense of belonging.
